Ekurhuleni, 31 January 2026.- The South African Students' Congress (SASCO) reiterated its solidarity with Cuba and its people at the National Executive Committee meeting held this morning.
In his speech, the organisation's president, Alungile Kamtshe, condemned Donald Trump's presidential order threatening to block all fuel supplies to Cuba and highlighted the spirit of resilience of the Cuban people, who have bravely resisted imperialist aggression for so many years.
Cuban Ambassador Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo expressed his gratitude for the expressions of solidarity with the Revolution and highlighted how education in Cuba has been a fundamental pillar of resistance, based on the understanding that educating people goes beyond instruction and is rather a strategic pillar of national sovereignty, social cohesion and resistance against imperial domination.
