Pretoria, 26 February 2024 – The member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) and of the Council of State of the Republic, Esteban Lazo Hernández, arrived in South Africa this morning on a working visit, as part of a tour in the African continent.
The Cuban leader was received at Johannesburg's Oliver R. Tambo International Airport by Ms. Lulamah Rulumeni, acting director of the Mexico, Central America and Caribbean Directorate of the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
The Cuban delegation includes Ángel Villa Hernández, Deputy Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, Jesús Rafael Mora González, Director of International Relations of the National Assembly, together with other officials.
During his stay in South Africa, Lazo will hold bilateral meetings with his counterpart, Nosiviwe Noluthando Mapisa - Nqakula, as well as with other important political figures of the country.
