On the evening of 7 December a special thank you event was held at the Cohiba Armosphere in Nicosia, organised by the Cuban Embassy in Cyprus to express its gratitude to the Cypriot friends and Cuban residents who contributed to the shipment of two containers full of medical aid to Cuba.
An initiative that started as an idea with the hope of becoming an annual contribution.
Mr. Alexis Tsielepis, one of the contributors, explained how the project started and that Cyprus will always stand by Cuba and will always express its solidarity to the sister nation.
Meanwhile, the Cuban Ambassador to Cyprus, Mr. Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero stressed the importance of the donations for the life of Cuban citizens and especially for the children.
In a thank you video, the directors of the Pediatric Docent Hospital "Juan Manuel Márquez", located in Havana, pointed out what the aid received has represented and the impact it has on the value of each of the materials received.
The Cuban singer Pedro, from "Yemaya Son", enlivened the room with some Cuban songs (EmbaCuba Cyprus).
