Statement by the José Martí Association of Cuban Residents in Dominica Condemning the Aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

From Dominica, the members of the Association of Cuban Residents “José Martí” raise our voices with deep indignation and determination to condemn the unjustifiable military aggression and violation of sovereignty perpetrated against the brotherly people of Venezuela on January 3, 2026.

Honoring the thinking of our Apostle, who taught us that “I am a son of America: I owe myself to her,” we denounce the following facts before the international community:

We strongly condemn the military intervention and air strikes carried out by the government of the United States. These acts represent a flagrant violation of international law and the CELAC Proclamation that defines Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

We denounce the illegal kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro Moros and his wife Cilia Flores. We demand their immediate release and absolute respect for their physical integrity, as well as for the democratic will of the Venezuelan people who elected them.

We reject the resurgence of colonial policies that seek to treat our nations as a “backyard.” The self-proclamation of external authorities and the attempt to appropriate Venezuelan natural resources are acts of political piracy that have no place in the 21st century.

We reaffirm once again our full support for the legitimate authorities of Venezuela and its courageous people. From Dominica, a Caribbean territory that knows the value of dignity, we declare that Venezuela is not alone.

We urgently call on social organizations, governments around the world, and our Cuban brothers and sisters abroad to mobilize in defense of justice, self-determination, and regional peace.

No more imperialist interference!

Respect the sovereignty of peoples!

Long live the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela!
