• The anti-Cuban hate campaign, the instigation of violence, must cease, and for this we require that the Bolivian authorities, the acting authorities, do so.
As reported today, there has been and we have observed with consternation a manipulative approach in social networks and in false accounts of origin and doubtful origin that encourages the idea that Cuban collaborators in Bolivia participated, organized or get involved in protests in That country.
In addition to emphatically denying it, we want to denounce that in these moments in which we are speaking, the Coordinator of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Bolivia, companion Yoandra Muro Valle, has been unjustly detained, together with the Chief Logistics of the Brigade, comrade Jacinto Alfonso Pérez.
The authorities of Interpol Bolivia went to the house of the Head of the Cuban Medical Brigade and without any reason, without legal or real justification, they have stopped her at the moment we are talking. Interestingly, a car from the United States Embassy is also parked in the vicinity of that house.
We are denouncing this situation right now.
The Bolivian authorities have not yet offered us an answer, and this is happening at the moment we are talking, but the Cuban Embassy is clarifying this situation.
These incidents have been occurring in the last hours. Like this happened yesterday in Santa Cruz, when a Colonel of the Interpol in front of television cameras went to the homes of Cuban collaborators in that city with the pretext of responding to a complaint from neighbors that guns were there. In front of the television cameras and without a court order, they entered the house, they checked the belongings, including each of the collaborators. They found nothing and said so to the television cameras that watched this incident against the Cuban collaborators.
We reiterate our complaint and call on the authorities acting in Bolivia to respond to the responsibility they have to protect Cuban collaborators, to guarantee physical integrity as corresponds to a State that signed with Cuba the agreements by which our cooperators are in That country.
The anti-Cuban hate campaign, the instigation of violence must cease, and for this we require that the Bolivian authorities, the acting authorities, do so.
We call everyone to denounce this campaign against collaborators that we all know what they have done in Bolivia these years and what they have done in that country to this day with their noble and altruistic purpose to save lives and bring health to the Bolivian people.
