Strengthens its relations with authorities of the country Association of Cuban Residents in Dominica "José Martí"

Roseau, October 16, 2022. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Ulises Arranz Fernández and the Consul Miriam Martín Posada, held a meeting with the Deputy of the House of Assambly of the Commonwealth of Dominica for the Electoral District of Portsmouth and Minister of Trade, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business and Export Development, Honourable Ian Douglas. The objective was to inform him about the labor to do the Association of Cuban Residents in Dominica "José Martí" (ACRDJM) in that locality and to introduce him the representative of this asociation, Surama Rodríguez.

During the meeting, the Ambassador explained to Minister Ian Douglas, the objectives of the association, the link of its members with Dominica as well as their support for Cuba.

For her part, the ACRDJM representative reported on several issues that are of interest to Cuban residents, the contribution they make to Dominica with their work and the support they provide to Cuba.

The Minister, a close friend of Cuba, thanked the meeting and offered his support to the work of the Association. He recounted the historical ties of deep friendship that unite his family with Cuba, among which are that of his uncle Roosevelt "Rosie" Douglas, a close friend of Fidel and Cuba; and his father Michael Douglas, leader of the Dominica Labor Party in 1985, both now deceased.
