On the night of June 12, 2023 was inaugurated the photographic exhibition entitled "Cars, history, culture and people ... Unique Cuba" with photos by photographer Petros Fiakkas, at the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Strovolos.
The Cypriot photographer, in his brief greeting mentioned that besides the architecture, the cars, the history and the culture, what he will always carry with him from Cuba is the people and their joy and their unique identity. A feeling that one can only understand if one visits Cuba.
For his part, the Ambassador confirmed this conclusion and added that the cars are a clear example of Cuban talent and a demonstration of the efforts of the Cuban people who, despite the unjust US blockade, have been able to make the most of the resources at their disposal and have turned old cars into real jewels. They are also a symbol of the perseverance, strength and joy of the people of the Caribbean island.
Opening the exhibition, the Mayor of Strovolos, Mr. Andreas Papacharlambous expressed that it is a pleasure to offer the space for exhibitions such as the one being inaugurated, as they show the culture of a country so dear to the people of Cyprus, such as Cuba and promised many collaborations in the near future.
Members of parliament, members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors, Cypriot and Latin American friends and the Cuban community, who also enjoyed the performance of Cuban musicians living in Cyprus, Marjorie and Salvador, attended the event, which was under the auspicious of Kapodistrias Automotive Parts (EmbaCuba Cyprus).
