Students from the University of Maryland exchanged with Johana Tablada, deputy director general for the United States at MINREX.

The reality of Cuba, the willingness to promote exchange and improve bilateral relations with the United States in all areas and the damage caused to Cuban families by U.S. unilateral coercive measures, were some of the topics that marked the exchange between the Deputy Director General for the United States of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and a group of students and professors from the University of Maryland.

The meeting, held during a working visit of the Cuban diplomat to the U.S. capital, was also an opportunity for students to ask questions and share their experiences about their visit to Cuba.
University students and professors recently visited the Caribbean nation as part of an academic program on Cuban architecture.
The diplomat recounted key moments in bilateral relations, stressing that Cuba and its people wish to build a civilized relationship respectful of differences in order to move forward on issues of common interest for the benefit of both peoples and countries.
