Students from Windsor Primary School participate in a presentation on Cuba.

Kingstown, March 11, 2025 - Sixth-grade students at the Windsor Primary School in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines received a presentation on Cuba by Cuban Ambassador Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry.

Topics associated with the history, culture, sport, gastronomy and traditions of Cuba were discussed, in which students could ask numerous questions and comments.

The ambassador spoke about the life and work of José Martí, National Hero of Cuba and his book dedicated to children "The Golden Age"; evoked the memory of Fidel Castro, historical leader of the Cuban Revolution and recalled the exploits of the great boxer Teófilo Stevenson, Cuban Olympic and World Champion, whose parents were originally from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Among the topics that aroused most interest were music, cigars cultivation and gastronomy of the Greatest Island of the Antilles.

The Cuban ambassador thanked Windsor for the opportunity to share information and interesting facts about Cuba, which maintains strong relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. (Cuban Embassy in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines/Cubaminrex).
