On the afternoon of Saturday 11 November 2023, the meeting of Cuban residents in Cyprus took place at the Cuban Embassy in Cyprus.
The Cuban Ambassador, Angel Gustavo Suárez Cordero, welcomed all those present and thanked them for their presence and especially all those who, in one way or another, collaborate in the activities of the Embassy.
He also spoke about the current consular matters and new measures related to the validity of the Cuban passport announced last May, made a brief summary of the consular work of the year and updated everyone on various current issues in Cuba and the impact of the blockade imposed by the US on the life of the Cuban people.
The Cuban diplomat also informed about the celebration in Havana, on 18 and 19 November, of the meeting "The Nation and Immigration" which will bring together various Cubans from around the world on the Caribbean island.
The ambassador appreciated the efforts of the Cubans in Cyprus who supported the shipment of two containers of medical aid during the year for cancer patients at the pediatric hospital Juan Manuel Márquez and acknowledged the work done by the Association of Cuban Residents in Cyprus.
It was a warm evening where Cubans felt their homeland closer to them.
