Syndicalist of the world defend the truth of Cuba. A Representation of SIPTU among visiting delegations.

Trade union organizations from several countries linked to the Central Workers Union of Cuba participate in the activities in greeting to the International Workers' Day and in the 21st Congress of that Cuban organization that met from April 20 to 24 in Havana.

Representatives of some 30 trade union organizations from different countries attended the union Congress as guests and, in addition to listening to the discussions on issues and concerns of the labor collectives, developed an intense program that included visits to the production bases to exchange directly with the Cuban workers.

"Our main objective is to bring people to see how we develop the country and in the circumstances in which we do it. We want them to be transmitters of what they have learned, because the news about Cuba is scarce and those that are published go against the Revolution, "said the Secretary General of the Cuban Workers' Union, UlisesGuilarte de Nacimiento, to the pressin the Cuban capital.

He added that the main purpose is to show how workers exercise union freedoms and that visitors freely roam the streets, taking the criteria of Cubans. "We want them to feel the damage caused by the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, mainly in the shortage of the population and lack of resources."

He pointed out that every year homologous organizations carry out actions in favor of Cuba to demand that their governments vote in favor of sanctioning the blockade in the General Assembly of the United Nations, due to the clear affectations suffered by the Cuban people in terms of supplies, productive guarantees, supplies, raw materials and spare parts.

He noted that in recent days the tone has risen in the escalade interventionist President Donald Trump, with new and more sanctions imposed on governments seeking to build a society away from capitalism.

The top Cuban trade union leader valued the Cuban trade union Congress as successful because it mobilized ideas to sustain economic efficiency, the indispensable basis of the current struggle towards the interior of Cuba. He highlighted the official statement issued by that conclave in support of solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution of Venezuela, with the people in the world who fight for just causes, mainly those who fly the flags of peace, independence, sovereignty and they are against the neoliberal and discriminatory policies imposed by the White House.

These issues will also be discussed on May 2 at the World Solidarity Meeting held each year in Havana, where foreign delegations expose their just claims to achieve social gains and raise their voices against the diplomatic and commercial siege that they have imposed on the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the media campaigns that are designed today to overthrow the Sandinista government of Nicaragua. They will also express solidarity and support with the Argentine trade unions in their fight against neoliberalism and for the freedom of former Brazilian President LuizInácio Lula Da Silva.

These demands will cover the May Day parade in all the squares of the municipalities and provinces of the country, mainly in the emblematic Plaza de la Revolución of the Cuban capital, which will show a colorful and multitudinous demonstration of support for the government and for the construction of the socialism under the motto of: Unity, commitment and victory.

A delegation from the SIPTU union will be present in Havana renewing its traditional solidarity with trade unionists and the Cuban people in general.

Trade unionists from other Irish organizations will also be present.
