Pretoria, June 14, 2020.- Today marks the 92nd anniversary of the birth of Ernesto "Che" Guevara, one of the greatest internationalist revolutionaries humanity has ever had. In the midst of the current world health crisis, we remember him especially in his condition as a doctor and for his dedication in favor of the most humble people.
We share some of his ideas about medicine:
"Organize public health in such a way that it serves to provide assistance to as many people as possible and serves to prevent everything predictable in terms of diseases and to guide the people"
"We have the right and even the duty to be, above all things, a revolutionary doctor, that is, a man who uses the theoretical knowledge of his profession at the service of the revolution and the people."
These ideas became reality for the Cuban Revolution and are a source of inspiration for the present and future generations of Cuban doctors who put them into practice in Cuba and many countries of the world.
