Today, Sunday, April 24, a new World Caravan of Cuban residents abroad, friends and solidary people from several parts of the world, against the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US government against Cuba, - the oldest and hardest in history-, which is contrary to the Charter of the United Nations, the International Law, the freedom of navigation and the multilateral trade rules of the WTO.
From New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Mexico, Bahamas; Italy, Sweden and places as distant geographically as Tunisia, Guinea Bissau and East Timor and many more places, a single loud and clear voice: lift the US blockade on Cuba now!
Convened by Puentes de Amor, an organization of Cubans residing in the United States and citizens of that country, the Caravan also advocates for the complete reopening of the consular services at the US Embassy in Cuba, which were suspended under false facades, for the resumption of the flights from the US to the provinces of Cuba, the reestablishment of the channels for sending remittances to Cuba and the resumption of the family reunification program that were interrupted years ago by the administration of President Trump and that, despite the promises of President Biden, during his electoral campaign when he was a candidate, they have not yet been restored.
Cuban nationals, friends and solidarity people against the US blockade of Cuba may be geographically far away, but they very close to the Cuban people in their minds and hearts, demonstration that Cuba is not alone and that solidarity cannot be blocked.
