Cuba's Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vilma Reyes Valdespino, met with the Permanent Secretary of the Vincentian Ministry of health, welfare and environment, Mr. Louis de Shong, and his team of Directors.
During the meeting, the parties addressed issues relating to the progress of the constructive actions in the center of Integral diagnosis (CDI) of Georgetown, the timetable for removal, transfer and installation of medical equipment, donated by Cuba for the Integral Diagnostic Center, as well as aspects linked to the Cuban medical personnel who will work in the installation.
The parties weighted the progress of the application in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines of the Heberprot-P medication against the diabetic foot ulcers.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is the only country of the Eastern Caribbean that has acquired the Cuban drug and is offering the treatment to its population.
