Dublin, November 25, 2025. The Communist Party of Ireland and the Cuban Embassy paid tribute to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on the ninth anniversary of his death. The documentary “Today Fidel Will Speak,” by filmmaker Jorge Luis Sánchez and sponsored by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) for the inauguration of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, was screened at the Communist Party headquarters theater.
The film, approximately 26 minutes long, offers a personal and personal look at the life of the Commander-in-Chief. In this regard, it addresses his role in pivotal moments in the history of the Revolution, such as the Ten Million Ton Harvest, the Cuban Missile Crisis, relations with the socialist bloc, his speeches to intellectuals, anti-imperialist struggles, and the disintegration of the USSR. It also includes assessments from colleagues who worked for him.
The Cuban ambassador, Bernardo Guanche Hernández, accompanied by the Counselor in charge of Consular Affairs, Mabel Rodríguez Morera, spoke with the participants, highlighting the historical significance of the Commander-in-Chief, as well as the commitment of the Cuban people to defend his legacy. He explained that this activity is part of the tribute to Fidel being carried out by the diplomatic mission on the centenary of his birth.
He pointed out that Cuba will defend Fidel's Revolution, even in the difficult circumstances it faces due to the strengthening of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade and the aggressive policies of the United States.
He also referred to the consequences of the hurricane that recently affected the eastern region of the island.
The Coordinator of the Association of Cuban Residents in Ireland, José Israel Martínez Rodríguez, traveled to Dublin from the city of Cork to pay tribute to the Commander-in-Chief.
Both Cubans and Irish people took the opportunity to express their admiration and respect for Fidel and to demonstrate their solidarity with the Cuban people.
