Tribute at the Cuban Embassy in Australia to the combatants who fell in defense of Venezuela

Canberra, 14 January, 2026. The United States government perpetrated a criminal military attack against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on 3 January, 2026. During the aggression, the President Nicolás Maduro Moros and his wife, Cilia Flores, were kidnapped. In addition, a group of heroic Cuban and Venezuelan combatants lost their lives.

Today, the Cuban Embassy in Australia hosted a moving tribute to these brave men and women.

The tribute was attended by members of the Canberra branch of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) and the Cuban Mission staff.

Those present signed a book of condolences in memory of the fallen combatants who died defending the sovereignty of the sister Bolivarian nation.

The ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Commonwealth of Australia, Gilma Moreira Lino, delivered heartfelt words during the tribute, highlighting the heroic nature of the fallen and offering condolences to their families and friends.

Friends of solidarity expressed their respect and condolences for the Cuban and Venezuelan combatants who lost their lives defending the Venezuelan president and reiterated their commitment to continue supporting the Cuban Revolution.
