Lusaka, November 25, 2025. In tribute to the 9th anniversary of Fidel Castro Ruz's passing into immortality, the Cuban Embassy in Zambia paid homage to him in an activity with university students and graduates in Zambia and Cuba, members of the solidarity movement and other friends of the diplomatic mission where videos and samples of publications about Fidel's legacy in Africa were shown, as well as the documentary Fidel is Fidel, by Cuban filmmaker Roberto Chile.
It was a moving and enriching event where we remembered and discussed his legacy of dignity, sovereignty, solidarity, anti-imperialism, and social justice. In this context, we kept alive the campaign to end the blockade and expressed our gratitude for the united vote across Africa. We also highlighted other activities that will take place starting in January 2026 to commemorate Fidel's centenary.
Prior to this date, and with the spirit and industriousness of Che and Fidel, the Embassy carried out several productive days of voluntary work to upgrade the conditions and beautify the areas that make up the diplomatic mission.
