Cubans, Americans and invitees from different nationalities met on January 18 at the Embassy of Cuba in the United States to commemorate the 59th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.

The Cuban Ambassador also underscored, as tokens of the American people’s sympathy toward Cuba: the unveiling of a replica of a José Martí statue that will take place in January 28 in Havana, the original of which has been in Central Park, New York, for more than five decades; and a festival dedicated to the Cuban Culture that will be hosted in May 2018 in Washington D.C., by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Attending this event were ambassadors and other members of the diplomatic corps, as well as representatives of different sectors of the American society, who included politicians, academicians, businessmen, representatives of the press, the solidarity, the religious and cultural sectors, and members of the Cuban community residing in the United States.
