Trump's measures persist, too, because of Biden's inaction and lack of courage.

The non-fulfillment of the promise made by President Joe Biden to his voters to change the policy of the U.S. Government towards Cuba, was a claim of almost 200 Cuban-American Democrats and hundreds of Americans, by means of a letter sent to the White House.

The missive, published by the coalition of organizations against the blockade Alliance for Commitment and Respect for Cuba (Acere), conveys the disappointment for "your inaction, lack of courage and sensitivity to undo the drastic and unfounded executive measures imposed by your predecessor (Donald Trump)".

In an interview with Florida's nbc channel in September 2020, Biden conveyed his desires to reverse "Trump's failed policies, which have caused harm to Cubans and their families."

Were these empty words? Should he maintain this trend, the signatories, who describe themselves as "concerned Americans" who volunteered their time, donations and votes, write that Biden will not now count on that of their community.

However, if he were to resume a sensible and humane policy toward Cuba, he would have a better chance of winning, receiving votes from one of Latin America's largest voting communities; and he would contribute to the need to reduce illegal immigration and other key interests in this region and the world.

"We need your courage to implement what the majority of the Cuban American community and the overwhelming majority of U.S. and world citizens believe is the right thing to do," they wrote.
