The TV25 newscast broadcasted a 13-minute interview with the Ambassador of Cuba to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer on the 65th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations. In the interview, he also denounced the recent aggressive measures taken by the new US administration against Cuba and Cuban international medical cooperation.

The diplomat highlighted the friendly and cooperative relations between both  countries, which have made it possible to train approximately 150 Mongolian professionals since 1963. He recalled the successful visit to Cuba in 2023 by Mongolian President U. Khurelsukh, as a result of which Cuba increased the number of university scholarships for Mongolian students.

He reiterated the gratitude to the government and people of Mongolia for the donation of USD 1 million in food aid to Cuba through the WFP in 2024 and for Mongolia's traditional support for the resolution against the US economic blockade at the United Nations General Assembly.

He shared that the introduction of biopharmaceuticals from Cuban biotechnology for the treatment of cancer and Alzheimer's disease, as well as products for agriculture and livestock such as the rodenticide Biorat, is being negotiated. He expressed Cuba's interest in Mongolian investments in agriculture, the food industry, renewable energy, and mining.

Regarding the progress in relations, he recalled the visit to Cuba in March 2024 by the then Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia, who signed two Mutual Legal Assistance agreements. the attendance of National Assembly Deputy and CENESEX Director, Dr. Mariela Castro, at the World Women's Forum in August; the participation of a delegation from the Ministry of Energy and Mines in Mongolian Mining Week 2024; and the visit of the Director of the Medical-Surgical Research Center Hospital (CIMEQ), the latter two in October.

The Cuban diplomat highlighted that for the first time in 40 years, the Havana International Art Biennial showcased four works by three Mongolian artists and included representatives from the Mongolian Artists Union at its opening. Furthermore, for the first time, in January of this year, senior officials from the Mongolian Foreign Ministry attended the Sixth International Conference for the World Balance in Havana.

He confirmed that the President of Cuba accepted the Mongolian President's invitation to visit her country and his willingness and desire to fulfill that visit, which objective reasons beyond his control have prevented him from materializing until now.

Regarding the U.S. aggressive policy toward Cuba, he recalled that U.S. attempts to control Cuba's destiny date back some 220 years ago, since 1805, when Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, advocated for an "easy conquest" of Cuba.

In this regard, he denounced recent U.S. aggressions, such as the re-inclusion of Cuba on the arbitrary list of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism, the decision to use the illegal U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay to imprison tens of thousands of migrants, the revocation of the suspension of lawsuits filed in court under Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, the reinstatement of the Cuban Restricted Entities List, with which entities or persons in the U.S. are prohibited from conducting transactions, and the decision to add the Cuban remittance processing company Orbit S.A. to that list.

The Ambassador of Cuba emphasized the U.S. objective of ending Cuba's international medical cooperation through the blackmail of denying visas to officials from recipient countries and the dignified and firm rejection by the Prime Ministers of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, and Barbados, among other Caribbean leaders. He underlined that the crusade against Cuban medical cooperation contrasts with its international recognition, such as the 2017 Dr. Lee Jong-wook Prize winner from the World Health Organization and the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

He assessed that the objectives of all these measures are to cut off all sources of external income to the Cuban economy; sabotage the ability of all economic actors to provide goods and services; and further deteriorate the population's living standards to create social unrest and destabilization,  to achieve the goal of overthrowing the Revolution.

Regarding the new United States Secretary of State, he said and argued that neither Cuba nor the world can expect anything good from a lyer and corrupt politician, according to the facts revealed by the US press.

He reaffirmed the will of the government and the majority of the Cuban people that the arbitrary U.S. aggressions will not deflect Cuba from its socialist path, its commitment to recovering the economy, fostering solidarity, and defending its reedom, independence, sovereignty, and the right to build a future without foreign interference.
