London, 16 February 2022- The 13th edition of the Universidad 2022 international congress, held in Havana 7-11 February, saw an active participation of delegates from the United Kingdom. The British delegation, including representatives of the International Institute for Cuban Studies (IISC), attached to the University of Buckingham, and the University College of London (UCL), held numerous meetings with Cuban authorities of higher education and high-learning institutions.
On behalf of the IISC, Director Dr. Steve Wilkinson, signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Havana, to deepen and broaden ties between the two institutions. He also held talks with the "Marta Abreu" Central University of Las Villas and the Enrique José Varona University of Pedagogical Sciences, with the aim of signing MoU agreements for the development of cooperation.
On her part, Dr. Emily Morris, from University College London, and director of CRICKET, Caribbean Research and Innovation Collaboration for the Exchange and Transfer of Knowledge, and doctors James Warren (Open University) and Julio Dávila (UCL), followed up on several projects currently underway and being developed jointly with the University of Havana and the José Antonio Echeverría Technological University, CUJAE, among others.
