United Seychelles shows support and solidarity with Cuba against the blockade imposed by USA

20 March 2021 “On the occasion of vote next month in the United Nations General Assembly on the Report by Cuba on Resolution 74/7 of the United Nations General Assembly, ‘Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba’, United Seychelles wishes to reiterate its unwavering support and solidarity to the Cuban people in their resolute struggle to end the protracted inhumane blockade. “United Seychelles, which is the legitimate successor of Parti Lepep, the Seychelles People’s Progressive Front and the Seychelles People’s United Party, has always enjoyed close links of friendship and cooperation with the Communist Party, the government and people of Cuba. The party has always supported Cuba in its fight to end the blockade. During its years as the party in government in Seychelles, United Seychelles has never faltered in joining the rest of the world to condemn for the past 28 years, in the UN General Assembly, the ‘largest economic aggression in human history’ that has been taking place for the past 60 years. “Despite the difficulties that the blockade has brought on the development of the Cuban people, United Seychelles appreciates the assistance within the context of South-South cooperation that Cuba has been able, and is still able to provide Seychelles, especially in the field of medicine. “United Seychelles hopes that although the political climate in Seychelles has changed this will not prevent Cuba from supporting the people of Seychelles through continued bilateral cooperation. For its part, United Seychelles continues to condemn this act of systematic violation of the human rights of the Cuban people. “Let the anniversary of the victory of The Bay of Pigs in April be the source of inspiration and continued combativeness of a people free from the shackles of capitalism.” Press release from United Seychelles
