U.S. Congressman Mark Pocan Denounces the Impact of the Blockade on Cuba

U.S. Representative Mark Pocan stated that, during a visit to Cuba last week, he was able to directly witness the serious difficulties faced by the population. According to his account, he found “a nation without electricity or basic necessities” as a result of the blockade imposed by the United States.

His remarks once again bring attention to the impact of economic sanctions on the daily lives of millions of Cubans, particularly in essential sectors such as energy, food, and other basic services.

Pocan’s position is significant because it comes from a member of the U.S. Congress who observed the situation firsthand and described U.S. policy toward Cuba as “inhumane.”
