Vice Minister of the Armed Forces of Cuba pays tribute to Cuban internationalist heroes

Pretoria, March 02, 2020.- The Cuban high-level delegation, chaired by General of the Army Corps Joaquín Quintas Solá, Vice Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, which visited South Africa on the occasion of the celebrations for the Day of the South African Defense Forces, paid tribute to the Cuban internationalist heroes in the historical museum of Freedom Park as part of its program of activities.

During the ceremony, the Vice Minister laid a wreath on the monument that includes the names of the 2289 internationalist Cubans who fell alongside African fighters in the struggle for the liberation of Africa and the defeat of the racist Apartheid regime.

High-level Cuban officials, the acting director of Freedom Park, Masesi Koto, the Ambassador of Cuba in South Africa, Rodolfo Benítez Verson, the heads of the Cuban cooperation brigades in South Africa in the Health, Education, Construction and Defense sectors and the members of the Cuban Embassy in Pretoria; attended to the ceremony.
