A videoconference was held today between scientists and managers of the Cuban biotechnology business group for agriculture and livestock LABIOFAM S.A. and of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia.

The meeting was headed by the Vice Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, His Excellency. Mr. Gankhuleg Munguntsog and Mr. Leandro Licea. First Vice President of the Cuban Group LABIOFAM. The Cuban ambassador to Mongolia, Jorge Ferrer, also atended.

The parties exchanged about the development of biotechnology in Cuba for agriculture and livestock, some of the flagship products, as well as mutually advantageous cooperation. They agreed to continue exchanging information.

Videos of scientific activity, modern industries and the results of LABIOFAM in the production of vaccines for livestock and biofertilizers, biostimulants and biopesticides for agriculture were shown.

LABIOFAM also made a presentation on the rodenticide BIORAT that reduces the population of rats and mice by more than 95% in 7-10 days, which is one of the problems faced by livestock pastures in Mongolia.

BIORAT has been used for 39 years and is registered in more than 23 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Asia such as Vietnam, Laos, the Philippines and China. 

Biorat has been used on livestock farms, in cities and in different plantations and pastures. It is biodegradable, harmless to humans and other animals, and economical as it requires only two applications per year.
