Canberra, October 25, 2024. A vigil against the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba was held at the Cuban Embassy in Australia. Members of the Australian Cuba Friendship Society and the diplomatic corps accredited in Caberra participated in the activity.
During the activity, materials related to the damage caused by the blockade to the Cuban economy and people were exhibited through videomapping.
The Cuban Ambassador to Australia explained to those present that next 30th the United Nations General Assembly will vote on the resolution that Cuba presents every year against the blockade where it is expected that the vast majority of the international community will vote demanding the cessation of the blockade.
Several young members of the solidarity movement were able to exchange with the Cuban diplomat about the reality of Cuba and expressed their rejection of the blockade and the inclusion of Cuba on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
