Kingstown, 22 July 2024 - The documentary "Madulu, The Seaman", by Vincentian director Akley Olton was screened at the Caribbean Film Festival, which was recently held from 4 to 8 July 2024 in Santiago de Cuba.
"Madulu, The Seaman" highlights the unique cultural heritage of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, particularly its resilient whaling traditions, capturing the voices and stories of this noble people during a particularly critical moment in their history.
Akley Olton is a graduate of the prestigious International Film and Television School in San Antonio de los Baños and, despite his youth, has a long experience in the field of audiovisual production.
The presentation of this documentary contributes to deepen the cultural ties between Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, which is part of the long-standing diplomatic relations between the two countries and their mutual interest in continuing to promote cooperation in all possible areas. The audiovisual will also be exhibited at the XVIII Gibara Film Festival (6 to 10 August 2024, Holguín) (EmbaCuba San Vicente y las Granadinas/Cubaminrex).
