Kingstown, May 24, 2024. The Minister of Sports of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency. Mr. Frederik Stephenson, received this morning the Cuban Ambassador to this country, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry.
The occasion was favorable to assess possibilities of bilateral cooperation in disciplines such as Soccer, Athletics, Volleyball and Basketball, very popular sports in this Caribbean nation.
The Minister stated that he is a great admirer of Cuban sports and their Olympic and world achievements. He recalled with nostalgia the successes of his cousin, the multi-time boxing champion Teófilo Stevenson, glory of Cuban sports, whose parents were born in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
