Kingstown, 7 May 2026. The ambassador of Cuba to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, visited the headquarters of the Public Service Union, one of the country’s most important trade unions, where he was received by its president, Elroy Boucher.
During the exchange, the Cuban diplomat gave an update on the impact of the energy blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, and explained the serious effects that this policy is having on the national economy and in the daily life of the Cuban people.
Mr. Boucher, who also serves as president of the National Labour Congress of Saint Vincent, expressed his firm rejection of the threats and coercive measures imposed against Cuba, and reiterated the historical solidarity of the Vincentian trade union movement with the island and its people.
Both sides agreed on the importance of continuing to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between workers and trade union organizations in both countries (Cuban Embassy to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines/Cubaminrex).
