Roseau, Dominica - October 3, 2024 - The official of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Tamara Armenteros, paid a visit to the Commonwealth of Dominica from September 28 to October 1, 2024, where she completed an extensive program of activities.
During her stay in the island known as the Island of Nature, Armenteros participated in a series of events, including her intervention in the radio program The Heng of Radio Kairi FM. In this space, relevant topics on the bilateral relations between Cuba and Dominica were discussed, such as the solidarity between both peoples and the constant support of Dominica in the struggle for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba. Similar messages, as well as the role of ICAP, were conveyed by Armenteros in an exclusive television interview offered to the Government Information Service (GIS).
A very special moment was the participation of the ICAP official in a meeting with the Cuba Solidarity Group and the Association of Graduates. The exchange took place at the University of the West Indies (UWI).
Armenteros was also received in a courtesy meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Dominica, Barbara Dailey.
The ICAP official was also able to hold exchanges with members of the Cuban Medical Brigade working in Dominica.
In each of these events, Armenteros was accompanied by the Cuban Ambassador to Dominica, Miguel Fraga, who also stressed the importance of bilateral relations and the gratitude of the Cuban people and government for the support of the people and government of Dominica in the fight against the inhumane U.S. blockade and the urgent need to remove Cuba from the spurious list of State sponsors of terrorism.
The visit of the ICAP official marks a new chapter in the solid relations of brotherhood, cooperation and solidarity between Cuba and Dominica and confirms the permanent will to continue strengthening them in all spheres of collaboration.
