The Washington DC City Council, in the United States, approved a resolution urging President Biden to lift the blockade and remove Cuba from the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
Resolution PR25-0113, entitled "Sense of the Council on the Reestablishment of Relations between Cuba and the US", expresses the will of the American people to normalize relations between the two countries.
Initially presented by Democratic Councilman Robert White Jr. and 6 other councilmen, it raises the limitations established by the blockade for the development of different Cuban sectors such as health, education and the economy; as well as for cooperation between both countries.
This resolution is in addition to 79 others approved by city councils, state legislatures, unions and organizations of the U.S. civil society, which seek to eliminate the sanctions that weigh on the Caribbean nation and return to the path of normalization of relations between the two countries.
