Kingstown, 30 August 2024. - The Cuban ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, reiterated that Cuba will continue to denounce permanently the unjust US embargo in all possible spaces.
In an interview with the National Broadcasting Corporation Radio (NBC Radio), Rodríguez Etcheverry stated that Cuba is going through one of the worst economic crises in its history, mainly due to the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the US government. He also thanked the unconditional support of the Vincentian government and people in this struggle, especially the Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, who has always maintained a solid position of support for Cuba in this demand.
The Cuban diplomat also gave details about the 15-man Cuban Linesmen Brigade that arrived in St. Vincent on Monday, August 26, to help with the recovery of the areas affected by Hurricane Beryl. He said that Cuba always offers its support to those nations in need, especially the fraternal peoples of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and that the presence of the linesmen contributes to strengthen ties of fraternity, solidarity and cooperation which have characterized the bilateral relations of both countries.
