World Peace Council condemned U.S. aggression against Cuba.

In a communiqué resulting from a meeting held in this capital, the participants expressed their solidarity with Cuba given the effects of the natural phenomena that recently hit it, the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Fernando Gnzález, told Prensa Latina.

“The interventions and speeches of the president, secretary general, and executive secretary of the CPM, in addition to those of most of the delegates, included expressions of recognition to the island and support to our people,” stressed Gonzalez, who attended the meeting on behalf of ICAP, coordinator in the Americas area of the organization.

The signatories also spoke out strongly against Israel's genocide in the Palestinian territories, mainly in Gaza, as well as the aggressions of Tel Aviv's Zionist army in southern Lebanon, and Syria, and its attacks on Iran, he said.

The ICAP president added that the final text includes the most pressing issues of today's world and the rejection of the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) for the continuation of the war in Europe and their interest in prolonging that conflict.

At the meeting, González presented a report on the activities carried out by ICAP during the last period and the main actions carried out by the organizations in the region.

Likewise, there were discussions of the reports of each area and other internal issues of the operation of the World Peace Council were reviewed.

In collateral meetings of the WPC Executive Committee, the Cuban hero talked with leaders of political, youth, and student organizations, as well as those of solidarity with Cuba in Nepal.

The ICAP president said that in all the meetings he was updated on the situation in the Caribbean nation, which received the support and admiration of the participants.

Kathmandu, Nepal, was proposed as the venue for the XI Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba to be held in 2026, he emphasized.
