Victoria, 18 August._ Marie-Christine Stephania Ah-Kon and Iven Travis Rachel expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to train in Cuba as future doctors during a meeting with Tomás Méndez Parra, Minister Counselor of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Victoria.
Both young students will soon travel to the island to begin their training at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) in September.
Currently, three other students from the small African nation are studying medicine in Cuba at a university that is part of Cuba's Comprehensive Health Program and welcomes young students from countries in the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Oceania.
Seychelles has more than 160 graduates from Cuban institutions in fields related to computer science, sports, engineering, medicine, and others.
