Dear Ambassador,  

OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES AND SOLIDARITY - 

On behalf of the Saint Lucia-Cuba Friendship Association, I wish to extend our deepest condolences and               
solidarity to the Government and People of Cuba on the death of the thirty-two Cuban soldiers who were 
killed during the US attacked on Venezuela on Saturday, January 3, 2026 and the  kidnapping  of the            
Venezuelan    President, Nicolas Maduro and his wife.

Mr. President,

Since September last year, Cuba has been denouncing the United States’ hegemonic and criminal plans, and its aggressive actions against Venezuela and the region. We have clearly exposed the serious and unpredictable consequences of the U.S. government’s irresponsible behavior for the political, social, and economic stability of Latin America and The Caribbean, and for international peace and stability in general.

On December 10, 2025, US military forces rapelled onto an oil tanker while it sailed in international waters in the Caribbean Sea, off the Venezuelan coasts.

This act of piracy and maritime terrorism is a serious violation of International Law, including the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Maritime Navigation. The US government is responsible for the commission of these crimes, which are harmful to the international community as a whole

Saint Lucia-Cuba Friendship Association Annual Meeting Dedicated to the Eternal Fidel Castro, Cuba-CARICOM Day, and Solidarity with Venezuela

Vigie, December 6, 2025 – The Saint Lucia-Cuba Friendship Association Annual Meeting served as a platform to pay tribute to Fidel Castro, Cuba-CARICOM Day, and the call to maintain Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace. Other topics related to the Cuban situation, the effects of the blockade, and Cuba's inclusion on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism were also discussed.
