The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, will deliver a statement, on 22 September, at the General Debate of the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Cuba will be the seventh speaker during the morning session on the opening day of this important event, which this year will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 170 Heads of State and Government are expected to attend.
The Mast, 22 August 2020. CUBA is scheduled to start clinical trials of Soberana 01, a possible vaccine against COVID-19 on Monday next week. With 11 million inhabitants, the Caribbean island has managed to contain the coronavirus pandemic with 3,408 cases, 88 deaths and 2,794 cured as of Monday, this week.
