Cuban Ambassador receives Chargé d'Affaires of Venezuela in Australia

Canberra, March 21, 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia, received this afternoon the Chargé d'Affaires of Venezuela in Australia, Luis Laya, on his arrival to the southern country.

During the fraternal meeting, the diplomats discussed the close ties of friendship that exist between the Cuban and Venezuelan peoples and reaffirmed the commitment to the development and strengthening of bilateral ties. 

The Cuban diplomat welcomed and wished them success in their management. 
 

Cuban Ambassador meets with Chief of Staff of the Minister of Health of Australia 

Canberra, March 19, 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia, held a meeting today with Nick Martin, Chief of Staff of the Minister of Health of Australia. 

During the meeting they were able to discuss the existing potentialities to develop bilateral relations, particularly in the area of health. The Ambassador also reviewed Cuba's history of international cooperation in this sector, as well as the country's progress in the field of biotechnology. 

The meeting was also attended by other officials of the Minister's cabinet. 

Cuban Ambassador offers interview to The worker`s weekly Guardian

Canberra, March 18, 2023.  The Cuban Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia today gave an interview to The worker`s weekly Guardian. 

During the interview the diplomat emphasized the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba and its intensification in recent years. Also discussed were the Cuban traditions and culture, the possibilities of expanding bilateral relations with Australia in the framework of the commemoration of the 35th anniversary as well as the friendly relations between the two peoples. 

Promotion of Cuban Cigar in Australia 

Canberra, March 9, 2024. As part of the activities of the 35th Anniversary of the Bilateral Relations between Cuba and Australia, an event was held in Canberra to promote Cuban Tobacco sponsored by the Cuban Embassy in that capital in conjunction with Pacific Cigar, the main marketing company of the Cuban product in the region. 

During the event there was an exchange with different businessmen and members of the diplomatic corps about the tobacco trade in Cuba, as well as the promotion of different products related to the tobacco culture.
