The new ambassador of Cuba to Georgia, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, presented his credentials in a solemn audience chaired by the president of this Caucasian nation, Giorgi Margvelashvili.

The ceremony of delivery of the credentials was held at the Presidential Palace in Tbilisi, capital of Georgia.

After the delivery of the credentials, the Georgian head of state shared a talk with 10 other concurrent ambassadors, who also presented Credentials.

Cuba and the United States hold meeting on human smuggling and migration fraud

On December 12, 2017 a new technical exchange was held in Washington D.C. between Cuban and US authorities on the combat against human smuggling and migration fraud, with the objective of increasing the bilateral cooperation in that area.

This meeting takes place as part of the law enforcement dialogue, which both parties maintain to coordinate the combat against transnational crimes affecting the two countries. The meeting was held in an ambiance of respect and professionalism.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, delivered the Style Copies of the Credentials that accredit him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Georgia, to the first deputy minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this Caucasian nation, Vakhtang Makharoblishvili.
At the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Georgian Ministry, both parties assessed the state of bilateral ties and agreed in the interest of continuing to develop them.
