Cuban Foreign Minister presents report on the blockade.

Havana, October 19. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, presented to the national and foreign press the update of the national report under resolution 75/289 of the United Nations General Assembly, entitled "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.” (Period August 2021- February 2022)

Speech by President Miguel Diaz-Canel before the UN General Assembly.

Havana, September 24. Yesterday, the Cuban President participated virtually in the General Debate of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

In his speech, Díaz-Canel emphasized that "We are living uncertain times. Under the demolishing impact of a pandemic that has worsened structural inequities and the global crisis, the role of multilateralism and the United Nations becomes ever more important. And international cooperation has been insufficient ".

Almost unanimous support for the Cuban Resolution against the US blockade.

New York, June 23. The General Assembly of the United Nations approved with the favorable vote of 184 countries the Cuban Resolution entitled "The necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba."
Only the United States and Israel voted against, being isolated, as in the 28 previous occasions in which the resolution was approved.

Cuban President calls to democratize the UN.

Havana, September 22. In his speech to the UN General Assembly, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said: “It is urgent to reform the UN. This powerful organization, which emerged after the loss of millions of lives in two world wars and as a result of a world understanding of the importance of dialogue, negotiation, cooperation and international law, must not postpone any further its updating and democratization. Today´s world needs the UN just as the one where it came into being did.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba intervened at the High Level Meeting of the UNGA.
