Australian friends join the "Bridges of Love" international solidarity campaign
Canberra, July 31, 2022- From the city of Perth, capital of the state of Western Australia, friends of Cuba joined today the international day of solidarity "Bridges of Love" that took place in several cities around the world.
Through a tour of the downtown Elizabeth Quay Bridge in that city, friends raised their voices for the end of the unjust blockade against Cuba that for more than 60 years has been unilaterally imposed by the U.S. government.
Solidarity aid with medical supplies sent from Australia to Cuba
Canberra, October 13, 2021- A donation with medical supplies to Cuba left by air from the city of Brisbane, capital of the state of Queensland, as part of a solidarity campaign towards the island developed in the Australian territory.
Humanitarian aid, consisting of more than 26,000 syringes and needles, expendable material, multivitamins, nutritional supplements and other medical supplies, will arrive in Cuba in the next few days to contribute to the country's efforts to confront Covid-19 and help with the vaccination campaign.
Australian Foreign Minister receives Cuban ambassador
Canberra, June 15, 2021.- The Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne, received the Cuban ambassador Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez on Tuesday afternoon.
During the cordial meeting, they exchanged on the current state of bilateral relations and their development possibilities in sectors such as health, biotechnology, mining and energy as well as the existing potential to promote triangular cooperation projects for the benefit of the Pacific Small Island Developing States.
