In a solemn ceremony held at the Istana Nurul Iman Palace, the Cuban Ambassador, Yadira Ledesma Hernández, presented her Letters of Credence to His Majesty the Sultan and Head of State, Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, accrediting her as the non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Brunei Darussalam.
Kuala Lumpur, October 9, 2026. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Faisal Muhamad, Deputy Secretary-General for Multilateral Affairs at the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Yadira Ledesma Hernández.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the long-standing cooperation between Malaysia and Cuba in multilateral forums. Views were exchanged regarding global geopolitical developments, the importance of upholding international law and multilateralism, and the economic and humanitarian challenges facing Cuba.
Kuala Lumpur, August 12, 2026. At the Cuban Embassy in Malaysia, together with representatives of the small community of Cubans Residents in this Asian land, we celebrated the centenary of our Commander-in-Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz.
Younger generations—represented by young Cuban Daniela and Young Pioneer Camila—read the poem "Canto a Fidel" (Song to Fidel) by Carilda Oliver, which concludes with the grateful line: “Gracias por todo, Fidel” "Thank you for everything, Fidel!"

Friends of Cuba in Malaysia staged a protest demonstration outside the United States Embassy in Kuala Lumpur last weekend to demand an end to the genocide against the Cuban people.
At the diplomatic mission, protesters delivered a copy of a declaration signed by 16 progressive and civil society organizations in Malaysia, rejecting the policy of hostility and aggression illegally imposed on Cuba by the U.S. government for sixty-seven years—a policy that has been intensified without any justification.

The Malaysian national news agency, BERNAMA, and the Sarawak Tribune published the denunciation made by the Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández of the United States' multidimensional aggression against Cuba that is multidimensional, ranging from economic and energy blockade to systematic threats of military action, provocation and diplomatic pressure.
On June 9, the Chairman of the Liberian Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the Honorable Abraham Darius Dillon, received the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles.
Manila, May 19, 2026. Friends of the Cuban people in the Philippines paid tribute to José Martí and laid a floral offering at the park where his statue stands, on the 131st anniversary of his death in combat.
The poem they recited in Spanish was beautiful, evoking that they too cultivate a white rose for a true friend.
On March 3, members of the Socialist Party of Malaysia held a public anti-imperialist protest in Kuala Lumpur's central KLCC Park, behind the Petronas Towers.
The demonstration, using megaphones, condemned the hegemonic policies and aggressions of imperialism, including the tightening of US sanctions against Cuba, which aim to paralyze the island's economy and suffocate the Cuban people.
The protesters carried signs supporting Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, and Palestine. They condemned the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife and demanded their release.
