Malaysian socialists raised their voices in solidarity with Cuba.

On March 3, members of the Socialist Party of Malaysia held a public anti-imperialist protest in Kuala Lumpur's central KLCC Park, behind the Petronas Towers.

The demonstration, using megaphones, condemned the hegemonic policies and aggressions of imperialism, including the tightening of US sanctions against Cuba, which aim to paralyze the island's economy and suffocate the Cuban people.

The protesters carried signs supporting Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, and Palestine. They condemned the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife and demanded their release.

Solidarity with Cuba from the Asia-Pacific Region

Kuala Lumpur, March 2, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia expressed her gratitude for the participation in the online seminar “Unilateral Sanctions as an Instrument of War,” which brought together progressive activists from the Asia-Pacific region and became a Solidarity event with Cuba.

The representative of the Caribbean island delivered a presentation on Cuba’s 67-year experience of resistance under imperialist aggression and the most comprehensive and prolonged system of unilateral sanctions ever applied against an entire nation.

Kuala Lumpur, March 1, 2026. Ambassador Yadira Ledesma expressed her gratitude for the visit to the Cuban Embassy by the President of the Socialist Party of Malaysia (PSM), members of its Central Committee and International Relations Bureau, and the President of its Youth Section, as a demonstration of solidarity with Cuba.

Statement by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Carlos Fernández de Cossío

Yesterday, our authorities reported an attempted infiltration for terrorist purposes involving 10 individuals aboard a vessel registered in the State of Florida, United States. From the very outset, upon determining that the vessel had departed from United States territory, Cuban authorities have maintained communication with their U.S. counterparts—including the Department of State and the Coast Guard—regarding this terrorist attempt. An investigation is currently underway to fully clarify the facts with the utmost rigor. The Cuban government is willing to exchange information with the United States government concerning this incident.

Cuban Ambassador exchanges with her counterpart from Brunei Darussalam

Putrajaya, February 26, 2026. The Embassy of Cuba in Malaysia is honored to follow up on the development of diplomatic relations with Brunei Darussalam as one of its concurrent accreditations.

Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández held a cordial meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires of the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam in Malaysia, Mr. Mohd Aizul Hakim bin Pehin Dato Haji Suyoi.

During the exchange, they addressed the situation on the island and discussed topics of interest on the multilateral and bilateral agenda.

The Cuban Ambassador held an exchange at the Malaysian Foreign Ministry

 Kuala Lumpur, February 19, 2026. Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández expressed her gratitude for the exchange with Ms. Prisheela Prakas Raw, Undersecretary of the Multilateral Political Division of the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The occasion provided an opportunity to address issues of common interest on the multilateral agenda, an area in which Malaysia and Cuba, members of the Non-Aligned Movement, share positions in defense of multilateralism and international law.

Statement of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers Condemning the U.S. Onslaught against Cuba and its Oil supply

Kuala Lumpur, February 8, 2026. The Friends of Cuba Association in Malaysia (FOCA) and the Cuban Embassy celebrated the 51st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández highlighted the more than five decades of cooperation, exchange, and friendship between Malaysia and Cuba, in which the promotional work carried out by the members of the Friends of Cuba Association in Malaysia (FOCA) has been fundamental in strengthening these ties.
