SACP: message on the 94th birth anniversary of commandant Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz

Pretoria, August 13, 2020.- The South African Communist Party (SACP) conveys a fraternal message to the people and government of Cuba on the occasion of the 94th birth anniversary of Comrade Fidel Castro, an outstanding commander and leader of the Cuban Revolution.

Comandante’s servitude to humanity has been inspirational to millions of peace-loving people across the world. We cannot imagine there is a single continent that was not touched by the influence and contribution of Comandante Fidel Castro.

Pretoria, August 13, 2020.- The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) joins the global progressive movement in paying tribute to a revolutionary and inspirational leader of the Cuban Revolution, our brother, and Comrade Fidel Castro – on his 94th birth date. In the nearly four years since his passing on November 25, 2016, the significance and resonance of Fidel’s revolutionary and socialist ideas, and the practice of the Cuban Revolution he was the central leader of, are greater than ever.

Pretoria, Agust 13, 2020.- The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) would like to join the international community and all progressive forces around the world including the people of Cuba in celebrating 94 years since the birth of one of Cuba’s most revered revolutionaries Comrade Fidel Castro.

Comrade Fidel Castro led the revolution in Cuba that overthrew the government of Batista in 1959 and introduced socialism.

Opening photo exhibition "Comandante" in Toronto

Toronto, December 4, 2017. Last Friday, at the headquarters of the Consulate General of Cuba, took place the opening of the photographic exhibition "Comandante", a collection of around 30 snapshots of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, by Cuban photographers Roberto Chile, Alberto Korda and Liborio Noval. The occasion became an act of homage to the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, on the first anniversary of his physical disappearance.
