Havana City Historian Eusebio Leal elected a member of AAA&S in US

PRENSA LATINA- Havana City Historian Eusebio Leal, one of Cuba's most recognized intellectuals, is now a member of the important American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAA&S).
Cuba's Ambassador to the United States, Jose Ramon Cabañas, attended on Leal's behalf on Saturday the initiation ceremony held by the Academy based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in which Leal became an International Honorary Member.

The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the measures announced by the United States Government on 4 June 2019, further tightening the economic blockade imposed on Cuba for over 60 years, at a cost for the Cuban economy which amounted to over 134 billion dollars in 2018 at current prices, and to the figure of 933 billion dollars, taking into account the devaluation of the US dollar vis-à-vis the price of gold in the world market.

Cuban Americans for Engagement publishes an open letter to reject the latest sanctions of the Trump Administration against Cuba

Cuban Americans for Engagement (CAFE), through its Facebook and Twitter social network accounts, published an open letter this Monday, addressed to the Secretary of State, Michael R. Pompeo, and other officials of the Department of State, in which it expresses deep concern regarding the new measures imposed by the Trump Administration against Cuba, announced on April 17.

Cuban Americans for Engagement (CAFE) condemns the new regulations of the United States aimed at causing more hardship to the Cuban families

In response to Trump Administration's announcements of additional sanctions on Cuba, the organization Cuban Americans for Engagement (CAFE), an emigration group in the US, condemned the new aggressive measures of United States against Cuba, announced yesterday in Miami by National Security Advisor, John Bolton.
"Cuban Americans for Engagement condemns the implementation of these regulations aimed at causing more hardship to the Cuban family," said the organization in a note.

Cuban Emigrants in U.S. Remember Jose Marti and Support Maduro

Washington, Jan 28 (Prensa Latina) Members of the Martiana Alliance, gathering Cuban emigration groups in the U.S. city of Miami, Florida, celebrated the birth of their home country''s National Hero, Jose Marti, 166 years ago this day.
 
At the event, held Sunday, the participants also recalled the birth of the alliance in 2001, and denounced the interventionist actions of the US Government and its allies against the administration of Venezuela's constitutionally elected president, Nicolas Maduro.
