The Herald newspaper publishes an interview by The Chronicle with the Charge d'Affaires of Cuba in Zimbabwe

Harare, August 7, 2024 - The Herald newspaper published The Chronicle's interview with the Cuban Chargé d'Affaires in Zimbabwe in which she made reference to important events in the history of Cuba; such as July 26, the blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States and the inclusion of Cuba on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism.

Harare, August 1, 2024-The Charge d’affaires of Cuba in Zimbabwe offered an interview to The Chronicle newspaper in which she recalled relevant moments in the history of Cuba; in particular, the significance of the anniversary of July 26 for Cubans. She denounced the criminal blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States and the inclusion of Cuba on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism.

Rector of the University of Bindura exchanges with Charge d'Affaires of Cuba in Zimbabwe

Harare, July 29, 2024- The rector of the University of Bindura, Professor Eddie Mwenje, exchanged with the Charge d'Affaires of Cuba in Zimbabwe on the development of joint collaboration projects.

Currently 4 professors teach classes at this University of the sister southern country, with excellent results.

Cuba and Zimbabwe share a historical relationship of bilateral collaboration in different areas.

President of the International Relations and Foreign Trade Committee of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe criticizes the US blockade against Cuba

At the headquarters of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe, the Ambassador of Cuba, Carmelina Ramirez, was received by the Chairperson of the International Relations and Foreign Trade Committee, Honourable Webster K. Shamu, in the company of other parliamentarians, Honourable Joshua Sacco, head of the Foreign Trade Committee and Honourable Lindiwe Maphosa, Committee on Education, Science and Technological Development.

The Zimbabwean legislator evaluated positively the state of relations between the parliaments of Cuba and Zimbabwe. There is a historical relationship between both countries that is manifested in the number of professionals graduated in Cuba and the medical collaboration. It is important to continue cultivating, strengthening those relationships. We have had to pay a high price to protect their sovereignty and independence. Webster K. Shamu, expressed that the US blockade against Cuba is unjust, and causes a lot of damage to the Cuban people. But Cuba and the Cubans have set an example of resistance and dignity. It is incredible how such a small island has managed to defy and survive economic sanctions, develop and at the same time provide solidarity to other peoples.

Cuba is an example of resistance

The member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Foreign Relations of ZANU PF, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi received in this capital the Cuban ambassador in Zimbabwe, Carmelina Ramírez. The Zimbabwean party leader expressed his country's gratitude for the help and solidarity that Cuba has always given them. 

He sent his congratulations on the results of the 8th Congress of the PCC and to the new leadership of the PCC. I consider the way in which the transfer of power to the new generation has been carried out exemplary. Cuba is an example of resistance, of the struggle to maintain its independence and sovereignty under economic and political harassment from its neighbor to the north. That is why Zimbabwe will always support Cuba for the lifting of the unjust US Blockade, he said.
