60 years since the proclamation that formalized the criminal economic blockade by the United States against Cuba

The revolutionary government condemns the continuance for over 60 years of the economic, commercial and financial sanctions formally imposed by the United States on 3rd February 1962. On that date, the then president, John F. Kennedy, issued Proclamation 3447, “Embargo on All Trade with Cuba” under Section 620(a) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961. He thereby conferred official status on the unilateral economic hostilities already in effect against Cuba since our country’s revolutionary victory.

The José Martí Technical School hosted the celebration in Jamaica on the 169th anniversary of the birth of our National Hero, in an event that was attended by the Ambassador of Cuba Fermín Quiñones, the coordinators of the Medical and Education brigades and the president of the Association of Cuban Residents on the island.

Located in Spanish Town, Saint Catherine, the center for technical studies was a gift given by the people and government of Cuba to the people and government of Jamaica 45 years ago.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, David Rivero Pérez, visited the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Aviation of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis and Premier of the island of Nevis, Honorable Mark Brantley, in his government offices in the island of Nevis.

Suva, January 13. Ambassador José Manuel Galego Montano, presented in a solemn ceremony, to the President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, the Letters of Credence that accredit him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in that Island State from the South Pacific. After inspecting the Guard of Honor and completing the formal protocol acts, both interlocutors held, in a cordial atmosphere, a fruitful exchange on bilateral ties and international politics.

Cuban flags - Anniversary 63 of the Revolution

Riyadh, January 1st - On the occasion of the National Day, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and King of Saudi Arabia, His Majesty Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, sent a congratulation telegram to the President of the Republic of Cuba, His Excellency Miguel Diaz-Canel. In his message, the monarch expressed the sincerest congratulations and best wishes for health and happiness to His Excellency, as well as greater progress and prosperity to the government and people of the Island.
