The Cuban Embassy celebrated National Culture Day at the National Library of Liberia.
On October 20, the strains of the Cuban national anthem, along with poems and books from the island, were shared among the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, and the Liberian artists, musicians, and intellectuals—as well as the general public—gathered at the National Library.
The event featured performances by hip-hop artists—a genre highly competitive in this African nation due to its demands for improvisational skill and vocal power—as well as displays of paintings and readings of urban poetry.
