Cuban doctors attend more than 26,000 patients worldwide

Havana, May 20.-  The 26 brigades of Cuban doctors from the Henry Reeve Contingent who are working today in about twenty countries, have so far treated more than 26,000 patients from Covid-19.

The meeting of the Cuban government's temporary working group held this Tuesday, revealed that the health professionals from the Caribbean island working in 24 nations saved the lives of 976 people affected by the pandemic.

Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of Cuba, highlighted the accomplishments of Cuban Medicine, as a result of the Family Doctor and Nurse Program, which marks 35 years on November 4th of this year.

Cuban doctors conclude assistance mission in Fiji

Wellington, 17 may 2016.- As part of a mission to assist Fiji after the devastating effects of Cyclone Winston, a couple of doctors from the "Henry Reeves" Brigade ended their work in Suva. Epidemiologists Adrian Benitez Proenza and René Aveleira Cutiño departed back to their homeland after more than a month and half involved in diverse tasks in the Pacific Island. During their stay, both doctors worked with local health authorities and had the opportunity to exchange experiences with other colleagues from different countries.
