Vision-Mission
Mission:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the agency of the Central Administration of the State whose mission is to propose, and once approved, to execute the foreign policy of the State and the Government, and to control its fulfilment.
Vision:
A Foreign Affairs system oriented in function of the defense of the socialist homeland, the principles of revolutionary diplomacy and the fight for peace, with respect for International Law, sovereignty, independence and self-determination of the peoples; the promotion of international cooperation and solidarity and that guarantees an efficient consular service to its nationals abroad.
Principles:
The Cuban Foreign Ministry materializes in its execution the principles of revolutionary diplomacy and adheres to the basic principles of International Law: respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of States; the self-determination of peoples; the equality of States and peoples; the rejection of interference in the internal affairs of other States; the right to international cooperation for mutual and equitable benefit and interest; peaceful relations among States, and other precepts enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. Internationalism, anti-imperialism, solidarity and unity among Third World countries are the backbone of Cuban foreign policy.
Cuba condemns all hegemonistic, interfering and discriminatory practices in international relations, as well as the threat or use of force, the adoption of unilateral coercive measures, aggression and any form of terrorism, including State terrorism. The Constitution of the Republic of Cuba condemns any type of discrimination for reasons of race, creed or opinion and prohibits negotiating under aggression, threat or coercion by a foreign power.
