Declaration of condemnation of the Irish Workers' Party against maneuvers in the European Parliament against Cuba.
The Workers’ Party wish to express their condemnation that a small group of right-wing MEPs have prepared a resolution to be included in the next Assembly of the European Parliament, today, June 8th. This resolution is a blatant distortion of reality with the full intention of destroying any current support for Cuba within the EU.

On behalf of the Cuban citizens residing in Ireland, we would like to send this letter for your attention.
Most of us have mixed families settled in this beautiful country, many of them have acquired dual citizenship as well as our children and therefore we feel also Irish citizens and European citizens, but of course we can’t forget our origins and our people in Cuba.

A couple of months ago, Cuba Solidarity Forum Ireland became aware that a small clandestine group of extremely right-wing MEPs held a series of zoom meetings in the European Parliament, while it was not in session, feigning that it was official business and invited other MEPS who were at this stage, during the Europe-wide pandemic restrictions, in their respective countries.
