Malaysia reiterates opposition to unilateral sanctions
Kuala Lumpur, October 10 – The ambassador of Cuba to Malaysia, Ibete Fernández Hernández, held a meeting with the General Secretary of the Foreign Ministry, Dato Ramlan Ibrahim on 9 October.
During the meeting, the ambassador presented Cuba's report on the blockade and requested Malaysia's support for this resolution.
Malaysian government secretary expresses condolences over Hurricane Irma
Kuala Lumpur, October 10 – The Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia Tan Sri Ali Hamsa received a courtesy visit from the ambassador of Cuba to Malaysia, Ibete Fernández Hernández.
At the meeting, the Chief Secretary to the Governmentexpressed his condolences for the damages caused to Cuba by Hurricane Irma. The parties also discussed the possibilities of collaboration between Cuba and Malaysia, identifying potentialities in the biotechnology and medicine sector.
President of Namibia condemns Blockade at UN General Assembly
NAMIBIA, September 21, 2017.- The President of Namibia, Hage Geingob, in his address to the high-level segment of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly demanded the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States Government against Cuba. The African leader also celebrated the process of re-establishing relations between the two countries.
